Happy Beds have led the way in stylish, well made, quality beds and mattresses, manufacturing with thousands of products sold over the years. In our recent collaboration we had the great pleasure to work on both website layout design and UX.
Our challenge was how to broaden Happy Beds appeal to a modern, design-conscious demographic. The solution proposed was an entirely new customer journey based on inspiration, quality, style, heritage and service.
The process of designing the frame website layout put in place the understanding of customer expectations through collaborative work sessions with both creative and user experience specialists. The outcome covered everything from the need for great customer communication to the processes and website functionality.
The considered design approach focused on a minimalistic look easily adaptable for the multitude of platforms, devices and screens. The wireframe of the website was designed on 4 columns to permit a clear product showcase, guidance through the brand’s product categories, service proposition and promotional message, and most important a richer user experience. Icons and banners were designed to blend with the product imagery and sustain the hassle free, qualitative and affordable brand core ideas.
One of the important parts of the project consisted of designing the functionality, layout and visual elements for the The Divan collection, customisation section. We managed to provide to the website’s visitors navigational comfort through expertise and innovation. The focus on the bespoke service and unique products this website section encourages clients to customise their bed from a selection of headboard styles, colours, fabrics, base type, and a range of storage drawer options.
